Several South African artists are offering their services to assist those in the medical field by supporting the Smile Foundation and Tixsa’s initiative called #helpthoseonthefrontline Charity Concerts.
This campaign was recently launched and involves the purchase of essential supplies and PPE for those in the medical industry – and anyone from businesses to individuals can contribute. Many medical workers are currently combating COVID-19 and unfortunately safety gear is becoming less.
Several artists have already joined hands in making these concerts memorable. Legendary singer-songwriter, Anton Goosen hosted an online show on the 25th of April and a portion of the proceeds was donated to this campaign. Other big names then got involved like Zahara, Kurt Darren, Chad Saaiman, SterlingEQ, Soweto Gospel Choir, Retief Burger, Heinz Winckler, Martin Bester and many more.
Concert #5 – Classical Crossover premiers Friday, 25 September 2020 and the lineup includes: Soweto String Quartet, Megan-Geoffrey Prins, Anna Davel, Haylea Heyns, Malika Omar, Rich Doremi, Trio de Musique, Selim Valentino, Antoine Fourie, Bronwin Africa & Andrea Kayser, Erin Beck & Rob Rodell.
While most South Africans can attempt to stay safe and healthy at their homes, thousands of medical workers are treating the infected. This is where Smile Foundation wants to make a change. With the involvement of artists, their supporters can enjoy their shows while making a difference.
Tixsa is a private label software solution that enables the processing of online and remote donations – locally and internationally. Their services and platform are available to all credible non-for-profit community-based organisations at a minimal and set transaction processing fee. Tixsa is donating proceeds back to the operational cost of other NGO’s, community-based organisations or ambassadors activating their communities in support of plausible and credible causes such as this initiative by The Smile Foundation.
Smile Foundation is a South African NGO that assists children with any type of facial or other conditions, to receive reconstructive surgery within South Africa. Now, during this incredibly challenging period, they also want to make a difference in the lives of those fighting for us.
