Con Grazia is a family of musicians who identified the need for public performances during the Covid lockdown period. This music group of three sisters (Marchelle, Syntiche & Sharon), has been performing together since childhood and travelled extensively abroad, entertaining people with a wide variety of musical styles. Together with their mother, Priscilla, they have a passion to develop a musical platform for musicians, especially through these uncertain times.
The Online Music Talent Showcase hosted by Con Grazia creates a platform for talented musicians of all ages across South Africa, and abroad. Musicians from Cape Town to Limpopo, Pietermaritzburg to Kimberley, Pretoria to Bloemfontein took part in the 2020 Showcase. More than a thousand entries marked the excitement and hope the Online Music Talent Showcase brought to communities. Winners were announced in the Classical, Contemporary and Gospel sections.
The competition took place online and it helped to equip every candidate to start and develop their own online platform on YouTube. The OMTS team shared videos on Facebook and other social media platforms. Now, music making was no longer confined to a concert hall or arena, but the platform allowed people from across the world to experience and enjoy these upcoming performers.
Prizes to the value of R600 000 included an acoustic piano, studio recordings, photo branding, music video, string services, music vouchers and master classes by South Africa’s top Musicians and Deutsche Grammaphon artist, Simon Ghraichy, from France.
Due to public demand, the Online Music Talent Showcase will continue in 2021, running monthly from April to October. The OMTS will continue bringing musicians together, motivating and inspiring them to share their musical talents with the world.
