Annually, International Nurses’ Day is celebrated on 12 May, the anniversary of Florence Nightingale’s birthday.
The day acknowledges the fearless nurses’ contribution to society every day, and in honour of our nurses, Classic 1027 and 1st for Women invite you to join Classic Lunch with Carolyn Steyn on Wednesday, 12 May for a special interview with Sister Milanie Bennett – the nurse who administered the jab to President Cyril Ramaphosa and Health Minister, Zweli Mkhize.

An Ode to Nurses
Never believe that a few caring people can’t change the world
They brave the dark
And risk their lives for mine and yours
They worry for their own family
While taking care of others
They welcome the first breath of a new-born
And comfort those who are taking their last
While we’re sleeping
They continue to heal the injured, help the sick and nurse them back to health
A few caring people can change the world
And those nurses who believe that CARE is the real CURE, usually do
This International Nurses Day, 1st for Women thanks our Nation’s Nurses for being our Fearless Guardian Angels
